About Aesthetic Text Generator

Confileo's Aesthetic Text Generator tool generates aesthetic and vaporwave text - wide full-width spacing, small caps, outline and squared letters. Everything runs in your browser, free and without signup, and your files are deleted automatically after processing.

"Aesthetic text" is a look rather than a single style, and it is worth naming what it actually is, because the searches for it and the searches for the wide vaporwave spacing are largely the same people. It comes out of the vaporwave and Tumblr internet of the 2010s: letters spaced far apart, a washed-out retro feel, small capitals for a caption underneath, outlined letters for a header. The featured set on this page is those four looks together, so you can see your own words in each and pick rather than guess.

The wide spacing is the signature of the style and it is not a space between letters. It is a separate set of characters called Fullwidth Forms, which Unicode assigned so Latin letters could be mixed into Chinese, Japanese and Korean text without looking cramped — CJK characters occupy a full square em, and a normal Latin letter next to one looks half-sized. Typing your text in fullwidth gives you the vaporwave look for free, because every letter is genuinely twice as wide rather than being pushed apart. That also means you cannot get the same result by adding spaces: a screen reader reads spaced-out letters one at a time, and any app that trims repeated whitespace collapses them.

The extra width has practical consequences that the aesthetic pages rarely mention. A fullwidth line takes roughly double the horizontal room, so a bio that fitted on two lines becomes four, and on a narrow phone a long fullwidth caption wraps in the middle of a word. It also counts against character limits like any other character. For a header, a name or a short tagline it looks exactly right; for a whole paragraph it is usually more than the layout can carry, and the small caps set is the better choice there.

The other three featured styles are chosen to work alongside the wide one rather than to compete with it. Small caps keeps a caption readable while still reading as designed, and is the most legible style on this site at small sizes. Outline gives you a hollow, drawn look for a header. Squared letters carry the retro-computing edge of the same aesthetic. Under the featured row every other style on the site renders from the same box, so if the combination you want is a cursive line under a wide header you can build it without retyping.

One caveat specific to this family: fullwidth characters are the ones most likely to be normalised by an app on the way in. A few services silently convert fullwidth Latin back to ordinary Latin when they store it — a compatibility rule that exists precisely because these characters are meant to be the CJK-width form of the same letters. Paste it, save, and reload the page once before assuming it stuck. And, as with every substituted style, screen readers and search engines do not read these as the plain word, so keep names and searchable terms in ordinary letters.

Everything is computed in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or saved.

Aesthetic Text Generator — Frequently asked questions

What is vaporwave text?

It is text set in Unicode Fullwidth Forms, a character set assigned so Latin letters could be mixed into Chinese, Japanese and Korean text without looking cramped. Each letter occupies a full square em, so the line comes out roughly twice as wide. The 2010s vaporwave aesthetic adopted the look, and it is now the signature style of aesthetic text generally.

Why is my aesthetic text so wide, and can I make it narrower?

The width is part of the characters, not spacing you can adjust — they are genuinely double-width by design. On a narrow phone a long fullwidth caption will wrap mid-word. For a header, a name or a short tagline that is the effect you want; for a whole paragraph, the small caps set gives the same designed feel at normal width.

Why not just put spaces between the letters?

Two reasons. A screen reader reads spaced-out letters one at a time instead of reading the word, and many apps trim repeated whitespace on save, so the spacing collapses the moment you submit the form. Fullwidth characters carry their own width, so nothing can strip it.

Why did my aesthetic text turn back into normal letters?

A few services normalise fullwidth Latin back to ordinary Latin when they store it — a compatibility rule that exists because these characters are defined as the CJK-width form of the same letters. Paste it, save, and reload the page once to check that it stuck before you assume it did. The small caps, outline and squared sets are not affected.
