About Excel to PDF
Confileo's Excel to PDF tool turns an Excel spreadsheet into a clean, print-ready PDF. Everything runs in your browser, free and without signup, and your files are deleted automatically after processing.
An Excel sheet sent as-is can look different on every machine — columns reflow, rows hide, and formulas may not be visible. Converting to PDF locks the layout for clean sharing and printing.
Confileo's Excel to PDF tool renders XLS and XLSX files into a tidy, print-ready PDF that keeps your borders, colours, cell alignment and calculated values exactly as they appear — perfect for sending reports and official invoices.
The thing that ruins most converted spreadsheets is not colour, it is width. A sheet wider than the page splits mid-table and continues onto pages nobody can read. Set the print area in Excel before you convert: landscape orientation for wide tables, and Fit All Columns on One Page under the scaling options. Ten seconds there is the difference between a one-page report and twelve unusable ones.
What the PDF locks, and why that is the point: calculated values appear, formulas do not. The recipient sees the numbers without being able to trace your method, edit a cell, or break a reference by accident. For a quote, an invoice or a report going to a client, that is exactly the behaviour you want.
Think about what the export will reveal as well as what it will freeze. Hidden rows and columns stay hidden, but cell comments and unrelated worksheets should not travel by mistake — check which sheets are included before sending. A shared workbook leaking a second tab of internal pricing is the most ordinary data slip in office work.
To keep long tables readable across pages, set the header row to repeat: in Excel that is Page Layout, Print Titles, Rows to repeat at top. The header then reprints at the top of every PDF page. Without it, from page two onward the reader has columns of numbers and no idea what any of them mean.
XLS and XLSX are both supported, conversion runs in the browser with nothing to install and no sign-up, and the resulting file opens and prints identically everywhere. Your document is processed and then deleted, and the original on your device is never modified.

Excel to PDF — Frequently asked questions
Will my columns fit on the page?
The layout is rendered to keep your data readable and aligned in the PDF.
Are formulas converted too?
The PDF shows the calculated values exactly as they appear in your sheet.
Does it support XLS and XLSX files?
Yes. Upload any spreadsheet in XLS or XLSX and get a clean, shareable PDF.
Why convert Excel to PDF?
PDF locks the layout so columns do not shift on the recipient’s device — ideal for sending reports and official invoices.
Does it keep the table formatting and colours?
Yes. Borders, colours and cell alignment are preserved exactly as they appear in Excel.
Do I need Excel installed to use the tool?
No. Just upload the file; everything runs in the browser without installing Excel.
Does it convert all of my worksheets (sheets)?
Yes. Each worksheet in the workbook is rendered into the PDF, so nothing is left out.
Is the resulting PDF ready to print?
Yes. You get a fixed-layout, print-ready PDF that looks identical on every screen and printer.
My sheet is very wide — will all the columns fit?
The layout is fitted to the page; for very wide sheets a landscape page setup in Excel before converting gives the cleanest result.
How do I convert an Excel file to PDF online for free?
Upload the XLS or XLSX workbook, run the conversion and download the PDF. Free, no signup, no watermark, and the file is deleted automatically afterwards.
Are all the worksheets converted?
Yes — sheets follow one another in the PDF in their original order. If you only need one, delete the others from a copy of the workbook before converting.
How do I stop a large table being split across pages?
Splitting comes from the table being wider than the page. In Excel, narrow the columns, switch the sheet to landscape, or set a print area — the PDF reproduces exactly those settings.
Do formulas appear in the PDF?
No. The PDF shows calculated results rather than the formulas behind them, exactly as the sheet would print. That is usually the point: the recipient sees the numbers, not your workings.
Is landscape orientation preserved?
Yes. Page setup defined in Excel — orientation, margins, print area and scaling — carries through to the PDF unchanged.
Does it support CSV files?
Open the CSV in Excel or LibreOffice and save it as XLSX first, then convert. That detour also lets you format the columns, which a raw CSV carries no information about.
Why not just send the Excel file?
Because it stays editable, columns shift between Excel versions, and formulas expose how you calculated. For a quote, invoice or report, the PDF is the final version everyone sees identically.
Do I need Excel installed?
No. Everything runs in the browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone — no Excel, no Office licence, nothing to install.
Is this tool really free?
Yes. You get 15 credits without an account and 200 credits a month with a free account; most tools use 1 credit per file and advanced ones up to 5. No watermark, no credit card. Pro adds 1,000 credits a month.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use the tool straight away without signing up or logging in.
Are my files safe and private?
Yes. Your files are processed for the task you requested and then deleted automatically — they are never shared or kept.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The tool runs in any modern browser, so it works the same on desktop, tablet and mobile with nothing to install.
