Saving a web page as PDF is about permanence. Pages change, get rewritten, move behind a login or disappear entirely, and a link in your notes is only as good as the site behind it. A PDF is a dated copy that stays exactly as the page was when you took it — which is why it is the standard way to keep evidence of an order confirmation, a published price, a policy page, a job posting or a set of terms.

You give the address and download the rendered page as a PDF. There is nothing to install, and it works the same on a phone as on a desktop.

What captures well are article and documentation pages: text, headings, images and links, in reading order. What captures poorly is anything the page only builds after you interact with it — content behind a cookie banner, a tab you have to click, an image carousel, an infinite-scroll feed, or a map. If the substance of the page only appears after a click, expect to see the state before that click.

Pages requiring a login cannot be captured, because the tool visits the address as an anonymous visitor. That is a deliberate boundary rather than a limitation to work around: for a page only you can see, use your browser's own Print to PDF while signed in.

If you are keeping the copy as a record, capture it as soon as the page matters rather than later, and keep the URL alongside the file — a PDF with no source address is much weaker as evidence than one you can point back at.

The page is fetched and rendered on the server and the file is deleted after you download it.
