Most CVs are rejected before a person reads them, and rarely because of the experience on the page. Applicant tracking systems parse the file first, and the things that break them are formatting choices: multi-column layouts, text inside tables, headers and footers holding your contact details, text boxes, and skills rendered as an image or a rating graphic. Read the posting, note the words it uses for the skills you actually have, and make sure those exact words appear in your CV — a system searching for "accounts payable" does not match "AP". Keep it to one page under ten years of experience and two beyond, and export a separate file per role instead of one generic version.

Two practical habits: name the file with your own name rather than cv-final-v3, because it lands in a folder of hundreds; and send PDF unless the posting explicitly asks for Word, since a DOCX reflows on the recruiter's machine exactly as it does on any other.
