About Cursive Text Generator
Confileo's Cursive Text Generator tool turns plain text into cursive and bold cursive script you can copy and paste anywhere. Everything runs in your browser, free and without signup, and your files are deleted automatically after processing.
Cursive is the style people ask for most often after bold, and for a narrower reason: it is the one that reads as personal rather than as emphasis. A wedding caption, a poetry account, a shop name, a signature line at the end of a bio, a display name that should look handwritten — none of those are served by bolding the text, and none of the apps involved offer a script font. So the letters have to already be script before they are pasted in.
They come from the Mathematical Script block, a range Unicode originally assigned so that mathematicians could write script variables like ℒ and ℬ without resorting to images. That origin is why the block exists at all, and why coverage is as good as it is: it has been in every major system font for years. Two weights are generated here — the light script and the bold script — and they are different character ranges rather than one range drawn thicker, so it is worth comparing them against your own words rather than assuming the bold one is just heavier.
There is one quirk in this block that no generator can avoid and most do not explain. When Unicode assigned the Mathematical Script range it skipped the letters that already existed elsewhere in the standard, in a block called Letterlike Symbols. The light script is therefore missing B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R, e, g and o from its own range, and those letters are pulled in from their older code points instead. They are the correct characters and they render correctly, but they were designed at a different time, so on some fonts they sit slightly differently from their neighbours. If a cursive word looks like one or two letters are from another set, that is why — and the bold cursive weight, which has no such holes, is the fix.
Where it works: Instagram bios and captions, TikTok, Discord display names and nicknames, X, YouTube channel names and comments, Pinterest, game nicknames, Notion and Google Docs headings, and any other field that accepts plain Unicode. Where it does not: your Instagram or Discord @handle, which are restricted to plain ASCII, and any field an app has locked to Latin letters only.
The trade-off is the same one that applies to every substituted-character style and is worth stating plainly. A screen reader announces these as "mathematical script small a, mathematical script small b" rather than reading the word, and a search engine does not match the script form of a word to a search for the plain one. If the text is a business name, a real name, or anything someone has to find or hear, keep it in ordinary letters and let the cursive carry a tagline or a single word instead. If you need cursive inside a document you control, a real font — set from the font menu in Word, Docs or Canva — is the better tool, because it keeps the text plain underneath.
Nothing is uploaded. The substitution happens in your browser and the text never leaves the page.

Cursive Text Generator — Frequently asked questions
Why do a few cursive letters look different from the rest?
Unicode assigned the Mathematical Script block but skipped the letters that already existed in an older block called Letterlike Symbols, so B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R, e, g and o are pulled in from those older code points. They are the correct characters and render correctly, but they were designed at a different time and can sit slightly differently on some fonts. The bold cursive weight has no such gaps if the mismatch bothers you.
Is this a real cursive font?
No, and that is why it works. A font is a rendering instruction that fields like Instagram bios and Discord nicknames simply do not carry. These are Unicode characters whose printed shape is already cursive, so the look travels with the text into any field that accepts plain characters. Inside a document you control, a real font from the font menu is the better tool because it keeps the underlying text plain.
Does cursive text work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The Mathematical Script block has been covered by the default system fonts on both platforms for years, and by every current desktop browser. If a letter shows as a box, that specific device is missing the font — the characters themselves are intact and display correctly elsewhere.
Can I use cursive text in a username?
It depends on the field. Instagram and Discord @handles are restricted to plain ASCII and will refuse it. Instagram name fields, Discord display names and nicknames, TikTok names, YouTube channel names, game nicknames and most profile fields accept it. If a name is rejected, the field is ASCII-only and no generator can change that.
Is this tool really free?
Yes. Every Confileo tool is free to use with no daily caps, no watermark on your output and no credit card required.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use the tool straight away without signing up or logging in.
Are my files safe and private?
Yes. Your files are processed for the task you requested and then deleted automatically — they are never shared or kept.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The tool runs in any modern browser, so it works the same on desktop, tablet and mobile with nothing to install.
