Compress PDF to 5MB Online — Free
To compress a PDF to 5MB, drop it into the tool below and download the lighter copy. Light compression is already selected, so photos and charts keep their detail; most decks, reports and catalogues come out below 5MB, and if yours does not, the 2MB page applies a stronger setting.
5MB is the common ceiling for corporate mail systems, learning platforms and client portals. It is also the point where the job changes: you are no longer trying to make a file tiny, you are trying to keep pictures looking good while getting under the cap.
This page uses the lightest compression setting for that reason. Presentations exported to PDF, photo-heavy site reports, product catalogues and portfolios usually drop well under 5MB with no visible loss at all.

How to compress a PDF to 5MB
- Drop your PDF below. Files up to 100MB are accepted, so a large deck or catalogue is fine.
- Light compression is pre-selected — it targets file size without softening your images.
- Compress and check the new size shown next to the download button.
- Download and check a photo page at full zoom. If you are still over 5MB, switch to the 2MB target, which applies a stronger setting.
